Last weekend we hosted our first event under our new business, Mntn Town Made. It was a Mother’s Day themed photo shoot. We saw women cry, laugh, and love. We saw a mother fighting cancer, a young woman who lost her mom recently, a mother who lost her sons… Mothers who weren’t feeling beautiful or confident, some that have never even had a photo shoot. We got feedback from some that their photos brought tears and made them feel beautiful again. This made us reflect on the parallels that as we pushed past our nerves, these amazing women were doing the same. It was the most beautiful example of women supporting women on both ends! Another perfect example being two women-owned businesses partnering for this event. Tara opened her lovely flower shop to us and it was the perfect space for our theme. We are so grateful for her hospitality and graciousness. So - today the Mntn Mamas celebrated the successful completion of our first event and a Happy Mother’s Day (Lauren’s first as a mama, Jess’s first with baby numero dos) over mimosas. As we almost began talking about the next event, we made ourselves stop to take a moment to be proud of what we just accomplished - loved that. So much to be grateful for this Mother’s Day. 🙏🏻

1 day down, 1 to go! It’s been an eye-opening experience. Love love love getting to connect with people in this way and see a new side of them through the lens. I’ve always been a bit shy and bad with eye contact, so getting to focus in on people’s beauty actually gave me butterflies. Sounds weird and it’s hard to explain but photography is like a quick window into a strangers soul!
